Incus’ active noise-cancellation range extends from 40 Hz to over 3 kHz, with up to 25 dB cancellation. Above this frequency range, passive attenuation of the incoming sound by the earphone structure dominates, and this provides a similar overall noise reduction level throughout the rest of the spectrum.
The Incus Aftermarket earphone design is self-powered from a re-chargeable Li-Polymer cell, or from an AAA cell. It is compatible with all mobile devices which use a standard 3.5 mm stereo jack socket.
The Incus Bundled earphone design is optimised for bundling with smart-phones and other mobile devices, and is powered by its host. Connection is via either micro-USB port, or 3.5 mm TRRS socket. The TRRS option requires a small additional circuit to be incorporated into the smart-phone electronics. By using power from the host device, the cost is reduced sufficiently to allow bundling, and the size and weight are very considerably reduced by the absence of a battery.
