David is the Chief Executive Officer of Incus Laboratories, with responsibility for business strategy. David was a co-founder of Sonaptic Ltd. in 2003, and was also Sonaptic’s CEO from its inception until the business was sold to Wolfson Microelectronics in 2007. Prior to Sonaptic, David was Managing Director of Sensaura Ltd., a spin-out business from THORN EMI Central Research Laboratories. David holds a degree in Physics from Strathclyde University, an MSc in Optoelectronics from Queen's University Belfast, and an MBA from Cass Business School, London.
Alastair is the Director of Research of Incus Laboratories, with responsibility for creating new Incus designs and technology. Alastair was a co-founder of Sonaptic Ltd. and was also Sonaptic’s Research Director. Prior to this, Alastair was Principal Staff Scientist at THORN EMI Central Research Laboratories, where, in 1991, he initiated and led the research that led to the creation of Sensaura Ltd. in 1996. The Sensaura team were awarded the 2001 MacRobert Award for outstanding innovation in engineering by the Royal Academy of Engineering. Alastair holds a BSc degree in Physics from Newcastle upon Tyne Polytechnic, and was awarded the PhD degree in 1982 by the University of Newcastle upon Tyne for research on microelectronic sensors for clinical applications. He is the author of more than ninety patents, and has published papers on chemical-sensitive field-effect transistors, biomedical instrumentation, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics. He is co-author of "Analytical and Biomedical Applications of Ion-Selective Field-Effect Transistors”.
Robert is the Chief Technology Officer of Incus Laboratories. In 2003 he was a co-founder of Sonaptic Ltd., where he held the position of Engineering Director. Robert began his career at THORN EMI Central Research Laboratories before joining Sensaura Ltd. Robert has extensive expertise in electronics hardware and software design and implementation, and has led engineering projects for world-leading customers including Microsoft (Xbox), Motorola and Audio-Technica. Robert holds a first-class Honours degree in Physics and also a PhD in laser physics, both from the University of Manchester.
